VIDEOS: Two Langley Chads are making music this week

Nickelback rocker Chad Kroeger and hockey-star-turned-country-musician Chad Brownlee unveil videos.

The two Langley Chads are making music, and they’re both in the midst of sharing some of it with the world.

Chad Kroeger, the somewhat notorious star and frontman for the rock band Nickelback, along with country music star Chad Brownlee, are both releasing videos to their Top 10 radio singles this week.

For Brownlee, a 32-year-old Willoughby resident and recent Juno-award nominee, this week is all about a video being released from a single off his latest CD, Hearts On Fire.

Preparing for an upcoming show in Calgary on April 25, Brownlee tweeted out a sneak peek of his brand new video, Might As Well Be Me, Thursday. The video is set to debuted on CMT Canada Friday.

As for the other Chad, Kroeger that is, he and his team officially premiered their video for Feed The Machine Wednesday on the band’s YouTube channel.

Kroeger, a 42-year-old Alberta born guitarist and vocalist, songwriter and producer who calls Langley home, and his band are preparing for the release of their ninth studio album, also named Feed The Machine, on June 16. That’s followed by a 45-plus show North American tour that kicks off on June 23 in Noblesville, Ind. The tour will include stops in Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Daughtry will join Nickelback as their special guest for all of the U.S. dates, as well as Toronto and Montreal, while Shaman’s Harvest will be seen on all dates. Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame icons, Cheap Trick, will be special guests for the western Canadian leg of the tour.

Tickets for the Feed The Machine Tour are on sale now at livenation.com.

In March, Nickelback joined the exclusive Diamond-certified club after the RIAA certified the group’s fifth studio album, All the Right Reasons, Diamond for surpassing 10 million units.

Since forming in Alberta in 1995, globally celebrated, diamond-certified rock band Nickelback have cemented itself as one of the most commercially viable and important acts of the past two decades.

The band consists of Kroeger, as well as Ryan Peake (guitars, backing vocals), Mike Kroeger (bass), and Daniel Adair (drums, backing vocals).

Nickelback’s success includes worldwide sales of more than 50+ million units, solidifying their status as the “eleventh best-selling music act” and apparently the second best-selling foreign act in the U.S. of the 21st century – behind only The Beatles.

Their inescapable and irresistible smash How You Remind Me was named Billboard’s Top Rock Song of the Decade and was No. 4 on the Top 10 songs of the 2000s list.

Amongst all of these accolades, they’ve also been named Billboard’s Top Rock Group of the Decade.

Along the way, they have received nine Grammy Award nominations, three American Music Awards, a World Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, 12 JUNO Awards, seven MuchMusic Video Awards, and have been inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame (2007).

With more than 23 chart-topping singles and fans spanning the globe, Nickelback boasts 12 consecutive sold-out international tours, playing to well over eight million+ diehard and adoring fans.
