Warbirds! Twilight Show!

It's not just about the jets at the Abbotsford International Airshow

There will be lots of roaring Merlin engines, the Rolls Royce V-12 which powered nearly everything in RAF service in WW II, at this year’s airshow.  The DeHavilland Mosquito twin engine fighter bomber will be returning, and for the first time, Flying Heritage Collection will offer its Canadian-built Hurricane and Spitfire in honour of the brave fighter pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain 75 years ago.  These were the “Few” referred to by Winston Churchill in his famous speech.   Adding to the din will be three P-51 Mustangs including a combat veteran, “Impatient Virgin” from Historic Flight.

Friday evening, 7 August will be a Twilight Show.  Come out and try something new when it is not quite so hot and the aircraft are beautifully silhouetted against a backdrop of Mt. Baker.  Afterburner plumes, pyro explosions, jet car flames, and fireworks – everything looks better at Twilight. Show runs from 6 pm and finished by 10 pm with a fireworks display.
