Has it really been 12 months since the Warmland Singers presented their year end concert? It seems amazing but it must be, as the group is calling this year’s show The Passing Year.

On Friday Dec. 30 starting at 7 p.m., this group of former Cowichan residents is joining voices for a third annual concert in the sanctuary at Sylvan United Church at 985 Shawnigan/Mill Bay Rd. next to Frances Kelsey Secondary School.

They will be singing a short program of classical and contemporary a cappella music celebrating the passing seasons and the coming of the new year.

This dynamic ensemble is comprised of 11 young adult musicians who all still maintain close ties with the Cowichan Valley.

Several have gone on to obtain degrees in music and perform professionally within Canada and internationally. Members of the choir have performed in a variety of advanced and professional choral ensembles across Canada including the UVic Chamber Singers, Vox Humana, Pro Coro Canada, Elektra, the National Youth Choir and the World Youth Choir.

Admission is by cash donation, with all proceeds given to the Cowichan Basket Society.

Seating is limited, so be sure to arrive early.
