The Big Dog Comedy Show
Actor and comedian Kenny Robinson is the headliner for the show at Chances, known for his series After Hours that was on the The Comedy Network.
The shows is being opened by Shane Clark, a former Rupertite who now lives in Vancouver where he performs at Yuk Yuk’s.
The comedy begins at 8 p.m. on Friday for ages 19 and over. Tickets are available at Chances Prince Rupert. After the show, members of the audience will be invited to participate in the open mic session.

Chronic Pain Self Management Workshop
Free sessions continue on Saturday at the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital from 9:30 a.m. until noon. The program will help participants learn how to understand and manage their symptoms, how to stay physically active, how to deal with stress and how to effectively communicate with your health care providers.

All Native games are back
Prince Rupert’s marquee event of the year is back with the return of the All Native Basketball Tournament this weekend.
The 58th annual tournament commences at noon on Sunday with some women’s basketball games. The official opening will be at 8 p.m. on Sunday with the opening ceremonies, performed by the Ahousaht Soul Shakers.
Games will be played from morning to night every day until Feb. 18.
Junior Rainmakers battle for zone title
With a perfect 15-0 regular season behind them, the junior boys basketball team at Charles Hays Secondary School (CHSS) will attempt to turn that success into another zone championship.
The team will host zones at CHSS this weekend, welcoming Caledonia Secondary, Coast Tsimshian Academy and Mount Elizabeth Secondary schools.
The Rainmakers play first against Mount Elizabeth at 2:15 p.m. on Friday to kick it off. Game will be played at 3:30, 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, then continue on Saturday with a semifinal game at 11:30 a.m. The final game will be played at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Aboriginal Sport Basketball Camp
The future stars of the All Native Basketball Tournament will test their skills at the inaugural Aboriginal Sport Recreation and Physical Activity Partners Council Basketball Camp on Saturday.
Ages 6-9 will play from 9-11 a.m., ages 10-13 from 12-2 p.m. and ages 14-18 from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
All games will be played at Prince Rupert Middle School.
Rampage push for the second round
It’s do-or-die weekend for the Rupert Rampage. Holding a 1-0 lead in the playoff series over the Kitimat Ice Demons, the rhinos will welcome them to town on Friday night.
The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at the civic centre. With a win, the Rampage will move on to the West division final against the Terrace River Kings.
If Kitimat wins on Friday night, a third and deciding game will be played on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., also at the civic centre.
