Families and friends can swim for free at the Earl Mah aquatic centre from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday night sponsored by Pacific NorthWest LNG.The second free swim is on Saturday from 2-4:00 p.m. sponsored by Ridley Terminals Inc.
All Native wraps up
The 58th All Native Basketball Tournament wraps up this weekend, as the 2017 champions will be crowned. But first, the Hall of Fame ceremonies on Friday evening at 8:00 p.m. Denise Wilson, Matt Carle Jr., Frank Parnell and Joey Nelson will be inducted into the All Native Hall of Fame.
On Saturday, all four championship games will be played. The women kick it off at 1:00 p.m. Hazelton is confirmed for that game, its opponent unknown as of Thursday evening.
The Masters will play at 2:30 p.m., the intermediates at 6:00 p.m. and the senior men close it out at 7:30 p.m. An award ceremony will follow.
Rampage host playoff game
On Saturday night, the Rampage will host the Terrace River Kings in the opening game of the second-round matchup.
The puck drops at 7 p.m.
Senior girls Rainmakers host zones
The senior girls basketball team at Charles Hays Secondary School (CHSS) will host the NorthWest Zone championship this weekend at CHSS.
Caledonia and Smithers will come to town to challenge the Rainmakers. It starts off at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, with CHSS playing its first game at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
On Saturday, the semi-final will be played at 10 a.m. and the final at 2 p.m. as the girls try to follow the junior boys as zone champs.
Squash tournament
Feel the love this weekend at the second annual Feel the Love squash tournament in Prince Rupert.
The event takes place from Friday to Sunday with games, a prime rib banquet and beer.
Both new and experienced players are welcome to participate and everyone is welcome to come down to the racquet centre and enjoy the games.
