What to do in Rupert this weekend: Nov. 4-6

Events in Prince Rupert this weekend (Nov. 4-6) include a Rampage home game, an art auction and much more.

Ice House hosts the 8×8 Scholarship Fundraiser

Bid on 8×8 pieces of artwork donated by artists from the area. The bidding starts at 7 p.m. at the Ice House Gallery but people can come earlier to browse through the work and even pre-bid before the auction.

Money raised goes into a scholarship fund that will be available for local students from the high school who plan on pursuing a career in the arts.

Rampage home game

The Rupert Rampage are back home for the first time in three weeks. The team hosts the Quesnel Kangaroos on Saturday night. The puck drops at 7 p.m.

The Rampage are trying to halt a two-game losing streak.

Senior girl volleyball play day

The Charles Hays Secondary School (CHSS) senior girls volleyball team will be hosting a play day at the school on Saturday in a final shape-up before zones.

The girls will be playing games between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Old Timers Tournament

The Carlo Paolinelli Memorial Tournament will take place in Prince Rupert from Nov. 4-6.

From the Prince Rupert Old Timers Hockey League (PROHL), La Gondola and A&G Silverbacks will be participating, along with several other teams from the surrounding area.

Each team will play three games over the course of the weekend. There will also be a social on Friday and Saturday evenings, held in the Eagle Room and civic centre auditorium.

Dance workshop

Spectrum City Dance will be holding its 21st annual A.D.A.P.T. workshop on Saturday and Sunday.

Toronto teachers Brian Foley, Jeremey Morganty and Rupert’s own Hannah Cam will be teaching throughout the weekend.
