See what entertainment events are going on and coming up in 100 Mile House

• Jan. 19-31 – Art teacher and wildlife artist Bobbie Crane is presenting The Appreciation of Nature at the Showcase Gallery in the South Cariboo Business Centre at 475 Birch Ave. in 100 Mile House. The Lac la Hache artist says 99 per cent of her paintings are of wildlife and often have a spiritual theme.

• Jan. 19-Feb. 4 – The Parkside Art Gallery will feature the work of longtime Vancouver photographer Robert Keziere. His display will be Robert Keziere: The Days of Augusta, his 1972 series of photographs and audio recordings of the remarkable life of Mary Augusta Tappage of Soda Creek.

• Jan. 24 – The first of the South Cariboo Winter Film Series gets underway at 7 p.m. at the Friendship Centre. The series fill feature four films from January to April starting with Inhabit – A Permaculture Perspective.

• Jan. 27 – There will be a Daddy and Me (last Friday of every month) at the 100 Mile House Elementary School gymnasium from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dads, granddads, uncles and children 6 years and under are welcome to play games, activities, enjoy pizza and take home free books. • Feb. 3 – The 108 Mile Ranch Lions Club will be holding a Bingo Night at the 108 Mile Community Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the games start at 7. At each Bingo Night, each player will receive a ticket towards a draw for two nights stay in Kamloops and $250 cash. The prize will be awarded at the May 5 Bingo Night.

• Feb. 3 – Everyone is welcome to the Lac la Hache Community Coffee House at the Pioneer Centre, starting at 7 p.m. Enjoy a free evening of entertainment, coffee and snacks. For more information, call Bruce Wilcox at 778-485-5122.

• Feb. 11 – The 17th Annual 100 Mile House Cowboy Concert will be held at Martin Exeter Hall in 100 Mile House with performances at 2 and 7 p.m. The shows feature Gary Fjellgaard, Emily Ireland and Ed Wahl. Tickets are $15 cash and are available at Work n Play, 100 Mile Feed and Ranch Supply and PMT Chartered Accounts.

• Feb. 11 – The Capilano Singers from Capilano University in North Vancouver will be presenting a workshop and concert at the 100 Mile House United Church (49 Dogwood Ave.). The workshop runs from 1:30 to 3:30 and is open to everyone ($15 fee) and the concert starts at 7 p.m. – admission by donation. For more information, call Jasmine at 250-395-2461 ext.128.

• Feb. 12 – the Interlakes Economic Association will hold their annual Outhouse Races at Interlakes Corner. The event is free. The amazing creations will be on site at 10 a.m. and races will start at 11a.m. Spectators are asked to vote for their favourite outhouse, and the winner will receive the People’s Choice Award. Last year’s giant slide (toboggan run) will be in place and, this year, there will also be sleigh rides. Hot food and beverages will be available on site.
