Summer continues at Fraser River Heritage Park on Friday, July 7 with the Envision Financial Twilight Concerts series and an appearance of Willie Blizzard.
A touring band from Vancouver, the acoustic trio plays original music in the folk/roots genre featuring beautiful vocal harmonies, guitars, banjo and stand-up bass.
Their original music is included on the album Celebrating the Best in BC Music. This trio will get everyone in the mood for the upcoming Mission Folk Music Festival scheduled for July 21-23.
Fronted by lead vocalist John Hough, the band’s principal songwriter has shared the stage with David Rea, Jesse Winchester, and Canada’s beloved Valdy. He has opened for Tom Russell at Vancouver’s Rogue Folk Club, and his performance credits include the Vancouver Folk Festival, the Mission Folk Festival, the Filberg Festival, Harrison Festival of the Arts.
On Wednesday, July 12, the Bob Liley Jazz Quintet take to the stage. There is nothing more soothing than a summer evening of jazz music in the park. This renowned quintet covers classic bebop from the days when jazz was king. This group is a favourite with the Jazz lovers at the concert series and they never disappoint. It is just jazz – for the fun of it!
The concerts take place rain or shine and the Special Olympics team will be on site to assist with parking as they have been proudly doing for more than 20 years. The concerts are free and everyone is welcome!
