Vancouver’s touring folk/roots trio Willy Blizzard is on tour here in the Cariboo with a performance at the Sunset Theatre in Wells on Friday, June 15.
“We are absolutely looking forward to playing this awesome performance space, with it great acoustics,” band frontman John Hough said.
And, as a special treat, Williams Lake citizens will be lucky to catch them for a free concert at Williams Lake Farmers Market on Friday before the band heads out to Wells.
“This show is essentially a gift to the community,” Hough said.
“The idea of local sustainable food is close to our heart.”
Hough’s vocals have been called the smoothest baritone west of the Rockies. Along the way to his music career though, Hough managed to pick-up a degree in agriculture. In fact, he taught agriculture in 100 Mile House many years ago.
The Willy Blizzard trio (www.willyblizzard.com) has been touring with their album. In From the Cold, throughout Alberta and B.C. and their original music has been called truly gorgeous Canadiana. Recently showcasing in Memphis, the group is featured on the 2012 CD: Celebrating the Best in B.C. Music. Audiences will enjoy their original brand of fresh organic alt/folk.
Catch them at Sunset Theatre, Wells, June 15, Sylvia’s MusicFest, West of Quesnel, June 16; Prince George Legion; June 16 evening; and ArtSpace, Prince George, June 17.
