A wild Winter Wings Art show is planned for Whyte’s Framing and Gallery in Comox at 1225 Lazo Rd. this Saturday from noon to 4.
A portion of the sales will act as a fundraiser for the Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society (MARS).
Several local artists and photographers and even a woodcarver will show their work at the Gallery in Comox from Dec. 8 to 14.
“We have enjoyed a special relationship with local artists for many years and this is a natural opportunity to present their work in a comfortable environment,” states Maj Birch, MARS founder.
Owner Phil Whyte is a wildlife lover and has had several exhibits and sales at his location this past season.
Some of the featured artists will be on hand to meet the public during the opening day and the works will be available for viewing and purchase during the rest of the week.
MARS ambassador birds will be on hand Saturday afternoon during the opening to meet the public and invite folks to do some holiday shopping in support of the wildlife charity.
At Winter Wings you will find artwork and photography by notables such as Judi Wild, Dan Delucry, Helen Gamble, Sharon Lennox, John Elliot, Steve Williamson, Zita Kenny, Brian Buckrell, Derek Vallintine, Sharon Lennox, and Linda Glover.
MARS also has some unframed prints by W. Allan Hancock and other artists for sale as well as a selection of gift items such as note cards, Hot Chocolate Eagles (an endangered species) and Royston Roasting Company coffee.
