Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) BC is hosting an art exhibition that explores the theme of “home.”

An opening reception for the exhibition takes place Monday, June 22 at 7 p.m. in the MCC Centre atrium at 33933 Gladys Ave.

Coffee and desserts will be available by donation.

A talk will be presented by Linda Klippenstein, who launched the project with a vision to bring together unlikely groups of women through art.

In collaboration with Heather Beckett, Darlene Wurster, Dale Klippenstein and Janet Weston, the collection was created by a group of Women from the Warm Zone and a group of women from the University Women’s Club.

The Warm Zone is a service that supports street-entrenched women in Abbotsford.

The University Women’s Club promotes education, rights and opportunities for women.

The exhibit features several pieces that connect to the theme of “home” and includes a large chandelier made of keys, a tapestry woven by the women, photographs, and a couch on which people will be invited to write what home means to them.

The project was first launched on International Women’s Day (March 8) at The Reach Gallery Museum.

The exhibit at MCC runs until July 18. For more information, call 604-850-6639.
