Wood Lake Publishing receives federal grant

Canada Book Fund gives Wood Lake Publishing a grant of $44,000.

Wood Lake Publishing has received some financial support from the Government of Canada with a grant from the Canada Book Fund.

The private publishing company was awarded $44,007 from the Department of Canadian Heritage’s Canada Book Fund.

The funding will help Wood Lake Publishing produce and promote Canadian-authored books for all ages tailored to Canada’s religious and spiritual culture.

“The funding we receive has continued to make it possible for Wood Lake to publish the work of new and established Canadian authors, illustrators and editors, and to make those works available throughout Canada and much of the world,” said Patricia Berube, president of Wood Lake Publishing. “Canada has much talent, and with the help of Canadian Heritage, we are able to do what we can to support and showcase some of these talented Canadians.”

Founded in 1980,  Wood Lake Publishing has more than 200 titles to its credit in over 30 years of publishing.

“I am pleased to see the Government of Canada’s support for Wood Lake Publishing, a valued organization in our community that has provided us with more than 200 Canadian literary treasures in three decades of publishing,” said Ron Cannan, Member of Parliament for Kelowna–Lake Country.
