Yellow Point Drama Group presents play Father’s Day

NANAIMO - Yellow Point Drama Group presents play Father's Day starting Thursday (Oct. 6).

Henry Willow’s life is disrupted one evening when his son Matthew shows up at his door with his goth girlfriend in tow.

The Yellow Point Drama Group brings these characters to life this month during the British comedy called Father’s Day by playwright Eric Chappell.

“A kid shows up at his dad’s door unannounced and as the play goes on he kind of single-handedly puts his family back together,” said Eleanor Thompson, producer of the play for Yellow Point Drama Group. “Matthew comes with a goth girlfriend who is seemingly mute, who only whispers in Matt’s ear when she wants something.”

Father’s Day is based on Chappell’s British sitcom, Home to Roost.

The Yellow Point Drama Group production stars Moira Fox, Brian March, Katie Robertson and Jesse Wilson and is being directed by Armando Dos Santos.

Father’s Day shows Thursday to Saturday (Oct. 6-8) and Oct. 14-15 and 21-22 at 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Hall, located at 2388 Cedar Rd. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

There is a matinee on Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for youth and are available by calling 250-245-7516, www.yellowpointdramagroup.org or at the door.
