An all ages rock show is taking place at the Young Arts Market (YAM) this weekend with some electronic tinged grind core and post hard core punk rock, among other sounds.

Four young bands from Port Alberni will be entertaining at the show, each bringing their own energy and creativity to the unique space in Parksville, said event organizer Paul Jager.

“I think the YAM is an interesting place,” he said. “I like the vibe, it’s a very artistic, very creative space.”

Jager said it was hard to find good location for these bands to play in the area, but the YAM seems a perfect fit.

Although for all ages, Jager said the show allows youth to watch youth express themselves in a safe environment where no alcohol or drugs are present.

The show is happening this Saturday, Feb.19, at the YAM located at 152 Alberni Hwy. in Parksville. Doors open at 6:30 p.m, a $5 donation is appreciated but no one will be turned away.
