Ziggy Marley is a highly talented performer who has been inspired to find his own style and a career that’s earned him numerous awards and a loyal following among music lovers.

Ziggy Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley, brings his own exciting music to the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre Monday, Oct. 17, in an Island exclusive performance.

Marley weaves elements of rock, funk, soul and pop with reggae to produce music inspired by what he calls “the higher power of love”.

His musical history dates back to the days when, as a 10-year-old, he would watch his father record in the studio.

With that as an inspiration, he went on to find his own voice and career.

Now an internationally humanitarian as well as a singer and songwriter, he’s carrying on the family name with 16 albums, seven Grammy awards and an Emmy award to his credit.

Listen for great numbers like “Look Who’s Dancing,” “Tomorrow People,” and “Conscious Party.”

Since making his solo debut in 2003, Marley has received the for Best Reggae Album in 2006, 2012, and 2015 in addition to the Award for Best Children’s Album in 2011 recognizing his first children’s album, Family Time.

That same year, he released his graphic novel debut, Marijuanaman.

The year 2013 saw him achieve a daytime TV Emmy for “I Love You Too” and release a children’s book of the same name.

Tickets for his show are $65 each and are on sale now, either through cowichanpac.ca or by calling 250-748-7529 or visiting the Cowichan Ticket Centre in person.

Don’t wait.
