Thirteen kilometres north of 100 Mile is the 108 Ranch, featuring a modern subdivision complete with an airport and a heritage site with buildings more than 100 years old.
The heritage site buildings are open from May to September, while the adjoining rest area is available all year round with picnic tables and views of the 108 Lake.
The area is renowned as a four-season playground with extensive trails for hiking (wheelchair access), biking, and horseback riding in the spring, summer and fall.
Winter activities include cross-country skiing, ice fishing sled dog races and skating.
The 108 boasts two resorts: The Hills Health Ranch with its full world-class spa facilities; and the 108 Resort with its championship 18-hole golf course.
There are tennis courts, a small mall, elementary school, gas station, non-denominational church, and a large community hall.
The unique design of the 108 subdivision with its extensive use of greenbelt areas gives residents unrestricted access to both Sepa and 108 lakes and acres of green space for privacy and recreation. There is a large public beach for swimming and a boat launch (electric motors only).
The area attracts artists, birdwatchers, photographers, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts from around the world.
