A little tidbit from my collection

I am a collector of anything I think may be required in the future. While I was looking for something else in an old binder I came across this that I believe is worth passing on from one of our writers. She didn’t know the source but finds it an inspirational reading to start any day.

Did is a word of achievement.

Won’t is a word of retreat.

Might is a word of bereavement.

Can’t is a word of defeat.

Ought is a word of duty.

Try is a word of each hour.

Will is a word of beauty.

Can is a word of power.

Wool needed

My last column told of two residents of Maeford Place who have been busy knitting squares for Grannies to Grannies to be sent to South Africa.

Some of the ladies at Fraser Village have been crocheting and knitting lap robes for cancer patients. Problem is, they have run out of wool. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have yarn to donate please call Dianne, 250-992-2324.

There are a number of special events coming up in March and April of special interest to seniors.

Drop in to either the Seniors’ Centre at 461 Carson Ave., the OAPO Golden Centre at 401 Front St. or the Royal Canadian Legion to find out what’s taking place or if you want to become involved.
