The show is a community partnership between SD71 arts and the Comox Valley Community Drug bringing the message, “It’s your life, it’s your choice.”
The team of actors has inspired young people in schools to think carefully about the choices they make by saying no to dangerous substances.

Once again there is a first place prize of $500 for the winner of the most improved home or the most beautiful yard, and a second place prize of $300.

A rally protesting seal predation in local rivers drew almost 90 Valley residents to Lewis Park Tuesday night.
The rally was called to demonstrate organized opposition Department of Fisheries spending $250,000 to study seals that habitually predate on endangered Puntledge River salmon stock — without authorizing a limited seal cull, protest organizer Ken Grieve said.

While most of their peers are busy channelling their talents to graduate, two G.P. Vanier Secondary students were already putting their skills to practical use.
Gary Piercy and Jerry Bishop were a couple of young entrepreneurs who thought they were onto something with the creation of Funky Mellow T-shirt Designs. The two sold 140 shirts since last April. Since then, they applied for and received an interest-free loan through the province’s Student Venture Loan program.
