Hope is located 39 metres above sea level at the eastern end of the Fraser Valley.  The community is nestled between the mountains of the Cascade and Coastal Mountain ranges, as well as at the junction of the Fraser and Coquihalla rivers.

Hope is home to about 5,900 people and offers a small town feel with easy access to large markets and amenities. At the convergence of Highways 1, 3, 5 and 7, Hope is strategically positioned as the Fraser Valley’s transportation, distribution, and service hub. Approximately seven million vehicles travel through the community annually on these major routes, or about 20,000 per day.

Easy highway access, combined with proximity to the U.S. border, large metropolitan trade areas, and low land and business costs makes Hope an ideal location.

The community offers a wide variety of indoor and outdoor recreation activities. In addition to the Hope Recreation Complex, there’s plenty of climbing, fishing, gliding, hiking and rafting opportunities in the area. New investments in expanded community recreational amenities such as mountain bike trails, motorsports facilities and new trails to integrate into Hope’s 63 kilometers of existing trails are planned over the next three years.

Hope’s land and housing costs speak for themselves when compared to neighbours in the Fraser Valley. A single-family detached home is on average only $228,001 in Hope, compared to the provincial average of $418,703. Retail lease rates are also extremely competitive with most properties between $8 and $12/sq.ft., compared to rates closer to $20/sq.ft. in neighbouring municipalities, and up to $220 in downtown Vancouver.

Hope’s economy consists of vibrant small businesses and large corporations such as Nestle Waters and Emil Anderson Maintenance. Majors sectors within the region are forestry, industrial/commercial, warehousing, mining, transportation and tourism.
