ALEX HOUSE: Busy times at Camp A

Plenty of programs and events are planned for Crescent Beach's Alexandra House over the next few months.

As always, the camp was a whirlwind of activity in December.

A big bouquet to the many volunteers who helped us in so many ways. That extra help is vital and very much appreciated. The new year brings new programs, and some returning favourites.

• Explore with Me is interactive program for parents and children ages 15 months to five years that introduces the Reggio Emilia approach to learning, inspiring children’s natural curiosity. Enjoy hands-on, interactive experiences and a song and story time each week

The next session runs Fridays, Jan. 31 to  March 7, 10-11:30 a.m. For information call 604-535-0015 ext 229.

• ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It?’

Find out on Feb 5. Explore a relational-based approach to parenting.

This is one of a number of interactive workshops for parents and caregivers of children and youth ages five to 18.

Workshops are held at 15455 Vine Avenue, White Rock at 6:30 p.m. $10/family.

Next in the series, ‘Why are you Acting this Way?’ – understanding challenging behaviours.

• Enjoy friends, music and fun – and a delicious home-cooked meal at our next community lunch on Feb. 5 at noon.

Each month our menu is inspired by a different ethnic community, and this lunch will feature a Chinese theme in honour of Year of the Horse. Cost is $8/members. $10 non-members. Call 604-535-0015 ext 236 to register.

• Our action-packed daycamps offer kids ages 5 to 12 a variety of fun adventures in a traditional camp setting by the beach.
