ALEX HOUSE: Time to think about Christmas

Many events to enjoy as holidays approach at Alex House

It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas.

The Semiahmoo Peninsula is a virtual hotbed of artists, artisans, crafters and other very talented people. Alex House is planning a Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 30, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and if you’re one of those talented people, we’d like to invite you to be a vendor at the event.

The fee is $25 and we’ll supply you with a six-foot table. And unlike the Alexandra Festival, this one will be indoors, so space is limited. Call 604-535-0015, ext. 231.

Explore with Me is an interactive program for parents with children ages 15 months to five years that introduces the Reggio Emilia approach to learning and inspires children’s natural curiosity.

The next session starts Friday and runs for six weeks. For more, call 604-535-0015, ext. 229.

Why are you acting this way? Explore and better understand challenging behaviours at this informative and interactive workshop for parents of children ages five to 18.

It’s the second in an ongoing series of workshops designed so you can attend as often as you like.

Join us Monday, Oct. 21, 6:45-8:45 p.m. at 15455 Vine Ave. in White Rock to continue to develop your skills and network with other parents – $10/family.

Coming up: Listen to Me! Learning to listen, understand and communicate with your child.

Learn the basic employability skills you need to get ahead of the game when looking for work at our youth workshop, ‘Ready, Set, Work,’ Tuesday, Oct. 22, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at 15455 Vine Ave. Dinner and snacks provided.

This is part of a monthly series for youth, run by the Reconnect Program.

Call 604-538-5060, ext. 26.

The Parent Child Mother Goose program is a group experience for parents and their young children that focuses on the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs and stories to nurture the bond between parent and child. Our next session runs Wednesdays, starting Oct. 30, 10 to 11 a.m. Cost is $40. Call 604-535-0015, ext. 229.
