June is Cat Awareness Month and the Kamloops Branch of the BC SPCA is “feline” the love with a 50 per-cent off promotion for all adult cats, until June 30.
“We have so many wonderful cats who need homes, especially at this time of year,” says Charleen Holloway, manager of the Kamloops SPCA. “We never want to have to turn away an animal in need due to lack of space so we are hoping that this promotion will prompt anyone who has been considering adoption to take the next step.”
She said the adoption promotion has two goals: to find loving homes for the beautiful, healthy cats awaiting their “fur-ever” family and to free up space to bring in other homeless cats who are awaiting care.
Holloway notes that the adoption fee includes vaccinations, spaying or neutering, a microchip and preventative treatment for internal and external parasites.
While the goal of the promotion is to find loving homes for as many adult cats as possible, the usual adoption counselling will apply.
“We want to make sure that the animals are a right fit for their new home,” notes Holloway.
