Island Arts Magazine is holding some artist workshops this weekend at the Lighthouse Community Centre.
Softening Acrylics to Make Realistic Misty Landscapes is being presented by Mark Hobson, a Tofino artist who is best known for his rugged West Coast artwork.
On Friday evening there will be a demonstration outlining the basics involved.
On Saturday will be Premix, a series of greys blending colours quickly wet into wet and softening the brush strokes with a sponge.
The two techniques will be used to get the effect of fog.
On Sunday the workshop will continue with a choice of foregrounds to complete the scene.
Ruth Payne will present Fear-Busting for Artists on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
