The McMillan Arts Centre is pleased to announce Ingrid de Jong as the feature artist in its Members Out and About External Exhibit at Cafe Adagio for the month of December.

de Jong lives in Nanaimo and for many years had a beachfront studio which gave her a beautiful view of the ocean. The ocean is a source of inspiration to her, as are her travels to many parts of the world.

Her formal studies took place at UBC, where she earned a teaching degree with majors in French and Art. She also studied in Europe at the École des Beaus Arts in Geneva, Switzerland.

de Jong has taught in the public school system and she has given private lessons.

Her specialties lie in photography, watercolour and acrylic painting. She is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) and has been an executive member of the Arrowsmith chapter.

Cafe Adagio is located at 147 Harrison Avenue in Parksville. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, contact the McMillan Arts Centre at 250-248-8185 or visit www.mcmillanartscentre.com.
