The Quesnel and District Arts & Recreation Centre is located at 500 North Star Road. From swimming and weight training to painting and pottery to special event hosting, the Arts and Recreation Centre does it all. The new, improved weight room and the whirlpool, saunas (one for adults and one for families) and the steam room offer up options for visitors. A destination for art in Quesnel, the arts centre has monthly art shows, the gallery gift shop, a permanent art collection, art workshops and on-going arts programming.
The aquatic facility includes a six-lane, 25-metre swimming pool with 1-metre diving board, slide and Tarzan rope swing, hot tub, free form leisure pool, adult and family saunas, family change rooms, on deck party area, viewing area and Shiraoi Gardens / patio area accessible off pool deck.
The weight room includes four treadmills, two recumbent stationary bikes, one upright stationary bike, two rowing machines, three cross trainers, two stairmasters, satellite TV, punching bags, universal weight training equipment and selectorized machines as well as free weights.
Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., statutory holidays, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. The Quesnel Art Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
