“Ten Minute Theatre”

Kitchen Stove Series
Monsieur Lazhar is the next film in the Kitchen Stove Film series and will be shown next Thursday, Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Pen Mar Theatre.
This is a complex film of tremendous maturity which interweaves themes of loss, innocence and imposture with shrewdness, tenderness and luminous warmth.
Phantom of the Opera
Summerland Secondary’s production of Phantom of the Opera opens next week at Centre Stage Theatre.

Show times are 7 p.m on Feb. 15-18 and Feb. 22 to 25 with a special Masquerade Evening on Feb. 18.
For this evening show doors will be open from 6-7 p.m for an event filled with decadent desserts and refreshments, a silent auction and prizes for the best dressed.
Audience members are encouraged to dress for the occasion and masks will be available for purchase at the door.
Once Upon a Mattress
“Once Upon a Mattress,” the wonderful musical adaptation of the Princess and the Pea story by Mary Rogers and Marshall Barer and the Rogers and Hammerstein Theatre Library, is being performed at Princess Margaret Secondary on Green Avenue in Penticton on Feb. 16, 17, 18 and Feb. 23, 24, 25 at 7 p.m.
Lost in Yonkers
At the Cannery Stage, Many Hats Theatre Company presents Neil Simon’s award winning Lost in Yonkers.
This entertaining play is about Jay and Arty who are forced by family financial circumstances to live with their tyrannical grandmother in her emotionally dysfunctional household at the beginning of World War II.
The play runs Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. until Feb.25.
