Principal Lady Grey/Field

The much awaited summer vacation for students and staff is just a few weeks away.

It will be time to say farewell to our Grade 7’s with a dinner, presentations and bowling on Friday, June 21.

Thank you to all the parents and staff who are helping to organize this event. We wish all the Grade 7s a lot of success at the high school in September.

At the other end I would like to welcome all the Alexander Park Grade 3 students to Lady Grey this upcoming September. There will be a special Grade 4 Parent/Student Open House session in early September.

On a personal note I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students, parents and staff for your great support of myself and the school for the benefit of all our children this year and over the past 17 years that I have been Principal at Lady Grey.

It has been an honour to have served in this position for so many years.

As you may have heard, Janne Arlt, presently the Principal of Nicholson Elementary, will join Laurie MacDougall, our Vice Principal, as the new Principal of Lady Grey.  Finally, thank you to the continued dedication of our Parent Advisory Council (PAC), School Planning Council (SPC) and parents and community members who volunteer their time and expertise. We have had a fantastic eleventh year, over a decade, as an intermediate school and look forward to continued success this fall.  Have a great summer!

Field School Happenings

June already… the school year at Field has just flown by!

Recently we’ve had the pleasure of watching butterflies emerge from chrysalis and yesterday we let them go to flutter around the flowers in Field.

Last week we had a sleepover at the school. Mme. Fouillard joined us and we had a great time.  The highlight of the evening was when we played Hide and Seek all over the building.

The children found the most cunning hiding places!  We’re off to the Science Centre in Calgary next week and having a bike rodeo.

Our year will end with a farewell celebration from our Grade 3 students- we’ll be sad to see them go, but will look forward to welcoming three new Kindies next year.
