TD Canadian Children’s Book Week has been going strong since 1977, and is now the single most important national event celebrating Canadian children’s books and the importance of reading.
Close to 35,000 youth and adults participate in activities held in every province and territory across the country. Hundreds of schools, public libraries, bookstores and community centres will host events as part of this major literary festival during the week of May 5 to May 12, 2012.
If you’d like to help your children fall in love with reading and the power of storytelling, why not bring them to hear storyteller and author Jan Andrews speak about the pleasures of reading and writing books for children and teens, on May 10, 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. at the Barriere Library?
