Long-time former Abbotsford News reporter Trudy Beyak will offer a unique look at the maternal side of religion while speaking about her new book, The Mother Heart of God: Unveiling the Mystery of the Father’s Maternal Love, during a presentation on Monday, Jan. 20.

The event takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in lecture theatre (B101) at the Abbotsford campus of University of the Fraser Valley, 33844 King Rd., and is hosted by UFV Religious Studies.

After a near-death experience, Beyak, an award-winning journalist, pursued a spiritual investigation.

She researched the Scriptures and interviewed more than 50 leading scholars and celebrities from North America to the Middle East, including: Dr. Raymond Damadian, inventor of the MRI machine; Ruth Graham; Ravi Zacharias; various Catholic scholars; Della Reese, co-star of the popular television show Touched by an Angel; and Rabbi Laura Duhan Kaplan, former U.S. professor of the year.

The Mother Heart of God looks at some of the most serious spiritual questions being asked by millions of people around the globe: Is there a “disconnect” today with God’s paternal male image? Does God have both a masculine and a feminine nature? Or is God beyond gender?
