Thinking about fires lately? Wondering what you can do to help?
The City of Campbell River is accepting applications to fill auxiliary fire fighter positions until the end of July.
“Auxiliary firefighters are integral members of the Campbell River Fire and Rescue Service working along-side career firefighters in the provision of fire and rescue services to the City of Campbell River,” says deputy fire chief Thomas Doherty.
Coun. Charlie Cornfield, whose portfolio includes public safety, adds “Auxiliary firefighters provide an efficient, essential and effective service to the community in the preservation of life, property and the environment.”
Auxiliary members of the Campbell River Fire and Rescue Service attend emergency incidents and participate in weekly skill maintenance drills and regular structured training exercises.
To be considered for an auxiliary fire fighter position, please submit a complete application package to the Campbell River Fire Department at 675-13th Avenue by 4 p.m. on July 31.
