AUXILIARY NOTES: A time to give thanks

Many unsung heroes have contributed to the ability of the Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary to give $11 million to the hospital since 1948.

The Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary was formed in 1948 and since then it has contributed over $11 million to the hospital.

This would not have been possible without the support of so many people who have contributed to the success of our organization.

At this time of the year, it is important to acknowledge the community who so generously supports us.

Last month we had another successful linen sale sponsored by the Kwatcha Group. They could not have this sale without all the contributions from people that donate these items to us.

Our donors are just as important as the people that year after year support this sale. This year we would like to thank “George” who stepped in and helped in so many ways.

Our Superfluity shop depends on our donors who constantly think of us and donate all manner of clothing, books, household items and furniture to us.

We can only be successful when we have a constant supply of quality items in our shop. Without their support we could not contribute as much as we are able to the hospital.

We sometimes receive generous donations by individuals who wish to remain anonymous. One family has made it possible for us to purchase several pieces of equipment, the most recent, a bladder scanner.

We thank the people who are able to make such generous donations to us. This benefits everyone in the community.

We have 10 auxiliary groups and they all raise moneys in different ways.

We wish to acknowledge the many businesses in our community, who donate products, money and gift certificates to our events.

We do appreciate all that they contribute in our efforts to raise money. We thank them for this.

We depend on volunteers. Without their hard work we would not be successful.

Our volunteers come from all backgrounds and bring a wealth of knowledge to us. They all deserve thanks for their dedication to this organization. We would not be able to be so successful without their hard work.

Our hospital employees always support out fundraising activities and we appreciate this.

The superfluity shop is having a sale of fine jewelry today (Friday) and on Dec. 18.

This will be the last sale of the year. The Superfluity shop will be closed from after closing on Dec.19 until Jan. 5.

The Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary would not be able to be able to contribute as much as it does without the support of the community. To everyone who supports us we thank you. You are our unsung heroes.

The Peace Arch Hospital is always looking for volunteers. There are applications at the Superfluity Shop, 15163 Prospect Ave., the gift shop located in the lobby of the hospital and at the information desk. We can also be reached at www.pahas.ca
