The year started off with the wonderful news that Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary won the South Surrey Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence award in the category of best non-profit society.
Everyone who has been a part of this organization from 1948 to today deserve a big thank you for all of their hard work. This award belongs to all of them.
The auxiliary prides itself as being an organization that values continuous learning.
This past year, we have had some exceptional Junior Auxiliary volunteers in our Superfluity Shop. This role offers high school students an opportunity to gain valuable retail experience, while giving back to their community.
The PAH Auxiliary is proud to support a chance for our youth to enhance their skills and enrich their career opportunities.
An exciting new commitment for the auxiliary this year will be the purchase of smart-board technology replacing an existing whiteboard system. This interactive, touch-screen technology will provide clearer communication and the ability to automatically distribute information, improving patient care from an access and flow perspective.
The smart board will ensure confidentiality and security for all the patients. This technology is another step into the electronic innovation that is so important in today’s health care.
This equipment is also used for instructional videos for interactive education. We will now have a learning center at the hospital.
Without the support of the community, the auxiliary would not be able to purchase such valuable technology. We are the first hospital in Fraser Health to have this equipment.
• Our Les Papillions group is planning another of their famous bridge luncheons.
It will be held on March 15 at St. Mark’s Church at 12953 20 Ave. This event starts with a luncheon at noon, and the bridge playing starts at 1 until 3 p.m. There will be door prizes.

• Our Kwatcha group is having a mini linen and collectible sale on Wednesday, April 9 in the hospital lobby.
They will be selling china, silver, crystal and glass items.
All proceeds from these events are used to purchase hospital equipment and support patient comfort at the hospital.
