AUXILIARY NOTES: Plenty on the go for coming weeks

Linens, crafts, baked goods on sale to raise money for Peace Arch Hospital.

This is a busy time at Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary. All the Christmas elves are preparing lots of great items for their upcoming sales.

Today (Friday), the Semiahmoo Group is having a lobby sale. They are selling lots of retro jewelry and other nice items in the hospital lobby. All of these items have been cleaned and are in excellent condition. There are always great finds from this group.

The first week of November  is when our famous linen sale sponsored by the Kwatcha group takes place.

This is a two-day sale that is held at First United Church located at the corner of Buena Vista and Centre streets. This group collects linens all year long and has all types of linens from antique lace to modern items. All of their linens are washed and starched.

Along with the linens, they sell collectable treasurers such as china, silver and glass. Many collectors come to this sale as they know the quality of their items.

This sale takes place on Friday, Nov. 6 (9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and on Saturday, Nov. 7 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).

Our Les Papillions group is having a craft sale on Nov. 14 at Langley Hall.

Also on Nov. 14, our Semiahmoo group will be having a bake sale at Crescent Gardens on King George Highway. If you know of anyone who would like some delicious home baked goodies this is the place to purchase it.

The Aquarius group will be having a lobby sale on Nov. 20 in Peace Arch Hospital. They will have lots of collectables and Christmas crafts for sale.

We have another group, Breakaway Bays, who will also be having a fall craft and bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 21 in the main clubhouse at 1840 160 St. This will also feature some wonderful baking and some great Christmas treasures.

At the end of November we have several important sales.

The Sunset Shasta Daisies will be having a lobby sale on Thursday, Nov. 26.

On Nov. 27, the Semiahmoo group will be having their famous Grinch Tree sale. These real trees are unique and are a great gift for people who may otherwise not have a tree.

On Nov. 27-28, the Aquarius Group is having a two-day Christmas sale. It will be held at the Elks Hall on George Street.

The doors will be open from 1-8 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Saturday.

This group has been collecting Christmas items for the past year and have enough items to warrant the two-day sale. This will be the perfect place to pick up some interesting items for your home.

Les Papillions will also have a table at the Star of the Sea on Nov. 28. They will be selling crafts at this sale.

On Dec. 2, the Aquarius group will be sponsoring a Teddy Bear Toss at the Surrey Eagles Game. It is a lot of fun and all the proceeds support the hospital.

Our last lobby sale will be on Dec. 4, and this is being put on by the Aquarius Group, who will be selling Christmas items.

Our last major event of the season will be the Joy of Music. This is a concert on Dec. 13 featuring the Vancouver Orpheus Male Choir at the Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
