It’s much closer than you think.
Hemlock Valley Resort is located only 45 minutes east of the District of Mission and offers an astounding array of entertainment for the entire family. Given Hemlock’s proximity to the Fraser Valley, only about an hour from the city, resort guests can enjoy the fact that it seems like they’re a world away, nestled in the trees and the cozy atmosphere of an alpine village.
The 2008-09 season has been outstanding, noted General Manager Kevin Bourdin.
“We have had great snow, very moderate temperatures and an amazing amount of clear, sunny days that everyone loves.”
The mountain opened late December and had consistently great conditions despite the irregular snow fall all northwest resorts experienced.
Hemlock is one of the Fraser Valley‘s premier family destinations offering terrain suitable for all skill levels, from beginner to expert. And if skiing isn’t your idea of a great day, there are also guided and unguided, base and alpine snowshoe treks and a lift serviced tubing park. Hemlock prides itself on being a family friendly mountain, and works towards that goal by hiring staff from the local communities as well as bringing in international staff.
The resort’s new ownership and management are on the brink of a master plan of the mountain that will see a dramatic expansion in lifts, terrain and amenities. Plans will also address long standing summer operation opportunities including mountain biking, hiking and ziptreking along with a hotel development.
