North Thompson Women In Business will hold its second annual Business Expo at the Clearwater Lodge in Clearwater on Saturday, May 6, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., according to chairperson Fay McCracken.
“This expo is free to the public and a great way to showcase the businesses in the North Thompson Valley. Kamloops, Valemount and 100 Mile House,” she said.
McCracken noted that last year the expo went over well, with over 300 people attending from Kamloops, 100 Mile, Interlakes, Barriere, Blue River and Valemount. Out of town businesses taking part came from Kamloops, 108 mile house, Barriere and Louis Creek.
“This year the expo is going to be larger; with us taking over some of the parking lot for tents and booths,” she said.
Those businesses interested in taking part should call Fay to reserve a spot 250-674-2700 or Roberta Innes at 778-208-1493 in Clearwater, or Lana at Armour Mountain Bookkeeping in Barriere. Alternatively, contact ntwomeninbusiness@gmail.com or join the NTWIB Facebook page: North Thompson Businesses.
NTWIB was established in 2013 as a not-for-profit organization to give a voice to Clearwater and area businesswomen, whether they be professionals, run their own businesses, are thinking about starting a business or work for others.
The group meets once a month (last Monday) in January, February, March, April, May, September, October, and November. Meeting place is the Wells Gray Inn at 12 pm – 2pm. There is a small drop-in fee and you purchase your own lunch.
“We have numerous guest speakers; and offer provocative thinking, innovative business ideas, and workable solutions. Have your most-pressing business challenges, concerns, and questions addressed in our open forum,” McCracken said.
