Celebrate St. Patty’s Day with Crooked Leg Ranch

Crooked Leg Ranch’s Willow Eyford is hoping lots of pennies drop into the donation containers before St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.

The public can help the not-for-profit, animal rescue operation by dropping pennies into containers at Green Tree Health and Wellness, North Cariboo Growers Co-op, Bouchie Lake Farm and Feed, Total Pet, Marshal’s Vet Clinic and Fauna’s Pet Grooming.

“Our goal is to raise $500 through the penny drive,” Eyford said.

“That money will go toward our low income spay and neuter program. We can help five low income families with $500.”

Again this year, Crooked Leg Ranch is hosting a fundraiser St. Patrick’s Day party at Boston Pizza.

Cover cost is $5 which includes a free beer or high ball drink, games, silent auction items and door prizes. Doors open at 7 p.m.

“Its the perfect way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, with a beer and an appy,” Eyford said.

“Proceeds from this fundraiser will help offset our ongoing vet bills.”

In addition to rescuing animals and finding good homes for them, Crooked Leg Ranch also transfers animals to other shelters where the demand is high and the number of animals available for adoption is lower. And, with the coming of spring Eyford said they’re anticipating an increased intake of kittens.

“Check out our website, www.crookedlegranch.com to see the amazing array of animals ready for adoption,” she said.
