Yogis of all levels are invited to Sol-ful, Sunday, June 19.
Share the grass at Beasley Park in Lake Country for Sol-ful Summer Solstice Yoga, 9:30 to 11 a.m. The beautiful green park on the shores of Wood Lake is a perfect location to stretch, rejuvenate, meditate, chant, drum, or even try SUP yoga on the water.
“The 9:30am group class is drop-inby donation,” said organizer Sheila Gunn, recreation supervisor with the District of Lake Country. “Just bring your mat, set it on the grass and be part of the largest outdoor yoga class in Lake Country or maybe the Okanagan. The enthusiasm for this event is really building and everyone is excited about the large variety of classes and workshops they can choose to attend during the day.”
Donations for participation in the 9:30-11 a.m. group class go to the purchase and installation of a gazebo in memory of Sam Waldron.
Registration is only required for the additional classes and workshops offered after 11 a.m. A registration tent will be open at the park on Sunday, however class sizes are limited and will be filled on a first come first served basis. Registering online is recommended to guarantee a place in one of the specialized workshops.
Nourishing food, refreshing drink and yoga-related merchandise will be on site.
Sol-ful will go ahead rain or shine. The day concludes with a 4 p.m. showing of the movie Awake: The Life of Yogananda at the nearby Creekside Theatre ($10) at 10241 Bottom Wood Lake Rd.
Beasley Park is located at 3450 Woodsdale Rd. and shares a parking lot with Reiswig Regional Park.
