The Centennial outdoor pool will open for the summer on Monday, June 2.
“Recent repair work to the basin and some tiling appear to have solved the water loss problems experienced in recent years,” says pool supervisor Matthew Collins. “The water temperature is 27 C (81 F), and we are ready for a busy summer.”
The pool schedule now offers more family, public and length swimming. During the early season (June 2 to 27) there will be morning length swimming as well as public swims and length swims in the evening.
Check out the new Swimfit and Aquafit classes in the evening. Additional length swims and new fun, family drop-in lessons happen on weekends. The pool is also available for rentals during the day (phone 250-923-7911 for pool bookings).
The pool also offers a full slate of Red Cross Swim lessons, Bronze Medallion and Cross certifications and a popular Junior Lifeguard Camp.
For online schedule information, check out the Recreation page on the City’s website (www.campbellriver.ca under Parks, Recreation & Culture / Facilities / Pools). Or call 250-923-7911 for information and registration.
The Centennial Pool will be open until August 24.
