UPCOMING EVENTS:

Now to May 31 – The Chilliwack Museum Chambers Gallery is calling artists for its 2014 Call for Entry. Solo, partnered or grouped exhibitions are welcome to apply. The deadline is May 31, 2013. Please submit 5” x 7” photos, or DVD, or memory stick (PowerPoint or Word doc.) in any medium, a biography, an artist statement, 20/30 examples required. How to Enter: pick up an application form at the Chilliwack Museum (45820 Spadina Ave.), or download the application form found on the Chilliwack Museum website at www.chilliwackmuseum.ca.

Feb. 24 – Be informed of the health and safety risks to you and your home with Smart Meters. A meeting will be held at the Chilliwack Library on Sunday, Feb. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. Seating for 50 people. www.citizensforsafetechnology.org

Feb. 25 – The February general meeting of the Chilliwack Outdoor Club will be held in the multi-purpose room at Mount Slesse middle school at 7:30 p.m. Our special presentation is called: “From the Gulf of Guinea to the Sahara – A backpacking trip through West Africa”. Feb. 28 – The Chilliwack Epilepsy Support Group meets Feb. 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Communitas Supportive Care Society (18-45966 Yale Rd.). Join them if you’re looking for support or just someone to talk to. They are also looking for a group leader — if interested, call 1-888-973-4987.

March 9 – The Cultus Lake Ladies Golf Club registration for the 2013 golf season will be held Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m. at the Cultus Lake Golf Course clubhouse. The 2013 ladies golf season will commence March 14 and will end on Sept. 26. All rounds for regular play will take place on Thursdays. Fraser Valley Toastmasters is seeking new members wanting to have fun while improving their speaking and communication skills. Hominum Fraser Valley is an informal discussion and support group to help gay, bisexual and questioning men with the challenges of being married, separated or single. The Chilliwack Common Threads knitting circle welcomes new and experienced knitters to join them Tuesday nights at Carman United Church (7258 Vedder Rd.). They meet upstairs in the Heritage Room above the church office. Share your skills and passion, knit along with our charity plans, or just come to share the good company. Are you living with mental health issues and struggling to find a safe place where you can share your concerns? The Living Healthy Group (Chilliwack Association), a non-profit group of self-advocates welcomes new members. They meet Wednesdays on the west side of Prospera Centre parking lot at 1 p.m. for 30 minutes of walking, followed by cool down stretches, a positive focus and a sharing time. Catholic Divorce Survival — Are you having a difficult time with the end of your marriage? Are you separated, divorced and still carrying a lot of baggage? You are not alone. This seminar/support group will guide you through the rich wisdom of the catholic church and point you to the sacraments where you’ll encounter Christ.
