Did you know that Type 2 diabetes can be reversed? That’s good news in a country where over 1.7 million people suffer with diabetes. And it was good news for the participants of the Reversing Diabetes Type 2 class on April 12 at the Juan de Fuca Seventh-day Adventist Church Annex.
The evening began with a DVD lecture by Dr. Milton Teske who shared that only the body’s cells know how to cure the insulin resistance of diabetes. So by giving cells the food they need, “insulin doors” can be produced in just eight hours. Studies show that about 50 per cent of the people who follow this plan can reverse their diabetes.
Following the lecture, attendees sampled some healthy breakfast foods like scrambled tofu, granola with rolled kamut, almond milk and fresh nettle and chia seed green drink. Guests appreciated the valuable information, enjoyed the healthy vegetarian breakfast ideas and loved the door prizes.
The next class will be on May 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Juan de Fuca Seventh-day Adventist Church Annex. Dr. Milton Teske will present more information via DVD, and there will be demos and samples with a focus on entrees and good fats. There will also be more fun door prizes.
