The Evergreen Drifters play for the Sunday Afternoon Dance Party at the Army Navy Air Force Hangar on Sunday.
“The band has been together, with some changes in players, since 1964,” said Carol Woiden, whose husband, Chester, is an accordion player and one of the original band members.
“It’s just really good, traditional dance music like waltzes and polkas. People really like it. The band has played for weddings and then had the people come back to get the band to play for their anniversary parties.”
Woiden is joined by band members Jerry Hutter on bass guitar and vocals, Pat Grove-White on drums and vocals, Sandy Erickson on lead guitar and vocals, original member Paul Holitzki on fiddle, Smokey Cartier on bass and vocals and Lawrence Bourgeois on lead guitar, vocals, fiddle and mandolin.
The band includes performances by Pingo, singer, fiddle, guitar and mandolin player.
The Sunday afternoon dance party takes place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hangar in the ANAF Hall, 2500-46th Ave.
Tickets are $5 at the door and there is a meal available after 5 p.m. for $7.
