Over 200 professional and amateur snowboarders are expected to be on the slopes at Panorama Mountain Village as the resort prepares to host the Easy Rider Cup on April 2-3, 2011.

According to marketing co-ordinator of media relations and promotions at Panorama, Jamie Hurschler, Panorama Mountain Village is thrilled to be the host of the event for the second consecutive year.

Presented by Burton Snowboards, the 24th Annual Easy Rider Cup is for snowboarders of alabilities.

The weekend is built around having fun and snowboarder camaraderie with winning being a secondary concern.

The main event of the weekend is the banked slalom event that will take riders through a laid-back terrain course filled with berms, rollers and small jumps. There will also be a slopestyle event and a rail jam (hand rail riding competition) for the more experienced riders.

The $25 registration fee includes participation in all of the scheduled events with all prizes drawn and winning times awarded to riders with only bragging rights.

Last year saw many outstanding performances which is perfect for people to come out even if they are only going to watch the event according to Hurschler.
