Regardless of the colder weather so far this spring, our Intergenerational Therapeutic Garden is in bloom with a rainbow of colours.
The preschool children have been out weeding and cutting their flowers to enjoy them inside their classroom.
They are anxious to go to the next stage of planting with sweet peas, green peas and some mystery seeds to attract the butterflies and dragonflies.
The adult planters are also in bloom with more than 300 bulbs adding an array of colour and reminding us that spring is here and we should enjoy our outside spaces.
Plans to move some of the planter boxes, raise the perimeter beds for drainage and design the ‘sharing circle’ for the children are just some of busy items discussed at the first spring committee meeting on April 19.
The garden received a generous donation from the Rotary Club to be used for our Intergenerational Sharing Circle. Money will be utilized to build seating for the children, as well as an adult seat for the storyteller.
If you have an interest in helping us develop a garden with a therapeutic atmosphere for all ages, please contact the recreation centre.
• Once again the 55+ Badminton Tournament was a great success.

Everyone was a winner and all went home tired, well fed and with a special gift.
Thanks to all who donated gifts and time to this annual event.
