The Architecture Foundation of British Columbia has announced that it is holding BC’s 100 Best Building Contest, inviting people from across the province to submit their favourite buildings saying: “We all have our favourite buildings. Buildings with architectural lines we love, old houses with never forgotten memories within their walls and shops that beckon us to visit. Buildings that hold special significance and have become a touchstone in our lives.”
No matter where you live in British Columbia, the AFBC is inviting people to nominate buildings whether they are located in your region or elsewhere in the province; a building that they love and want to share with us.

The Best Building Contest will close at the end of June, and then the public will vote to determine the favourite 100. A panel will select the top three for each of the four regions (North, Interior, Island and South) to be awarded plaques at a special event to be held in the fall of 2014.
About Architecture Foundation of BC
The Architecture Foundation of BC was conceived by a group of senior B.C. architects in 1999 to recognize and encourage excellence in architecture. Incorporated in early 2001, the Foundation was formally registered as a public foundation on March 1, 2001. Since then the Foundation has held various programs and events to build a fund from which it can provide grants to support and fulfill its mission to promote awareness, understanding and appreciation of architecture in British Columbia.
Foundation projects include the 100 Mile House Design Competition, Architects 4 Kids program and the Kiyoshi Matsuzaki Syllabus Scholarship Fund.
