For four very intense days in early December, staff and students at Fleetwood Park donated to a massive coin drive in an effort to assist the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

The student leaders from a variety of groups decided to join together to support this one cause after seeing the terrible images of the devastation through media reports. Students set goals and for each achieved goal, teacher Darcy King, and vice-principals Sean Chambers and Sabrina Symons each received a pie in their faces.

In total, Fleetwood Park Secondary raised more than $3,000, which was presented to Red Cross Disaster Management Volunteer Dawn Royle on Monday (Dec. 9).
