Preparing for the journey with dementia is an important step for family caregivers and those living with the health issue.
To help them get on their way, the non-profit Alzheimer Society of B.C. is offering a free tele-workshop, Understanding Dementia, on Jan. 31.
The one-hour session starts at 7 p.m. and explains the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. It focuses on the symptoms and reactions that are likely to arise throughout the different stages of the disease.
Participants can participate in the comfort of their own homes, accessing the workshop via telephone, with optional online slides.
Pre-registration is not necessary. A few minutes before the session, participants simply dial toll-free 1-866-994-7745, and then enter the pass code of 1122333.
