A Celebrate 80 Years Plus luncheon was held at the Seniors’ Centre on Sept. 28.

Nineteen ‘over 80’ members were treated at the head table with a delicious lunch and a large birthday cake. Three lady visitors from Cache Creek and one gentleman from Ashcroft attended. All were welcomed by president Muriel Scallon, and Grace was said by member Joyce Freeman.

Help in the kitchen and service was provided by Nola McIlravey, Linda Holland, Muriel Scallon, Donna Tetrault, and Irene Trueman. Thank you ladies. Cathy Morris also helped and opened the gift shop so many wonderful items for sale. Joyce Freeman and Muriel (Binki) Nichols cut the cake.

President Muriel called on all ‘over 80’ members to speak. Each one gave their name, age, and compliments to the Centre and to the Ashcroft area in general. We are thankful for the ‘good life’ here.

Visitor Andy Kormendy spoke lastly of his appreciation for the Seniors’ Centre and all that we have contributed to the Ashcroft area. We hope to see everyone again next year.
