Highly acclaimed gardening guru Brian Minter will be speaking in Barriere on Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. Minter is a syndicated columnist for several B.C., national and international garden magazines, a radio host on CBC Radio, president and owner of Minter Country Garden in Chilliwack as well being recognized for the many hats he wears on various boards and committees primarily related to gardening, horticulture and tourism.

North Thompson Valley Garden Club approached Minter last year in hopes of bringing him here to speak to anyone who has an interest in gardening and the green things many of us grow in our yards. The garden club was able to finalize details recently so that our community will get the exciting opportunity of hearing Minter speak on two topics: New Garden Trends and Taking Your Garden to the Next Level. Minter also plans to bring unusual plants suitable for our climate zone to sell after the presentation.

Tickets for the Sept. 23 presentation are $12 in advance ($15 at the door is space remains) and are available at Country Feeds (Barriere), Armour Mountain Office Services (Barriere) and Legends Used Books (Kamloops). The presentation will take place at 7 p.m. at Christian Life Assembly (4818 Annesty Road) in Barriere.
