Personal opinions about Jellyfish may vary widely ranging from being “the coolest thing” and mesmerizing to yucky or scary.
But if there is one thing to agree upon, it would be that jellyfish certainly fascinate people.
Find out more about jellyfish, how they function and behave, this Thursday, Oct. 27, 7 p.m. at the Maritime Heritage Centre. Campbell River’s Discovery Passage SeaLife Society is hosting Dr. Steve Strand, who studied jellyfish for many years in his capacity as professor for marine biology at University of Los Angeles.
The presentation will kick of this season’s Public Science Speaker Series, that will present some amazing people each month from now on until the summer.
You may want to mark your calendar already for the next talk already which will be on Marine Fossils of Vancouver Island with expert Graham Beard, Thursday, Nov. 9, same time and place. No tickets are needed for any of the events, but donations are encouraged.
