An Oyama chef is up next as Gatzke Orchard continues it’s Go Foodism series of events with a dinner series that will feature an easy-going approach to a gourmet dinner.

Chef Travis Hackl is cooking up a an outdoor roaming four-course meal that will combine the abundant fresh, natural valley ingredients with wine tastings by 50th Parallel Estate Winery.

The Gatzke Orchard dinner series has been enjoying a successful sold out run with the first three Go Foodism nights.

“We’re ecstatic with the popularity of our orchard dinners,” said event manager Joseph Pinheiro. “The first three were a phenomenal success and as the next three dinners are already 50 per cent sold out we are feeling really good about Go Foodism. The combination of these culinary talents, our picturesque venue and the outstanding food is what is attracting people to buy tickets to more than one dinner.”

Hackl is no stranger to the Okanagan culinary life as he manages his catering business Okanagan’s Finest Foods and his OKF Grill from the heart of Lake Country – Oyama.

“After years of downright serious menu creation, I have found a more relaxed, easy-going approach to food combinations and preparation,” said Hackl. “This approach, combined with the abundant fresh, natural ingredients produced in the Okanagan Valley, has led to the inspired catering menus of Okanagan’s Finest Foods.”

Hackl is working on the final touches to his grill to gourmet menu and the flavours he is working on are simply going to make your mouth water!

“I love what Gatzke Orchard does for our people and our community and we proudly support them,” he said. “I’m really looking forward to my Go Foodism night to entertain, feed you and to show off my amazing team. It’s going to be a great night.”

A total of six orchard dinners featuring a diverse group of B.C.’s finest chefs are taking over the orchard this summer.

Before dinner, guests will explore the property alongside those who raised their dinner and harvest some of the bounty nurtured according to the Fresh Local Organic Seasonal mentality, which uses local farms to help grow community.
